AP CM supports Kejriwal, says using Gov’s office for political benefits against Constitution
New Delhi, June 15 : TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday expressed his solidarity with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Cabinet Ministers, who are staging the sit-in protest at Raj Niwas since Monday evening, demanding an end to the ‘strike’ by IAS officers.
“The trend of using the Governor’s office for political benefits of the ruling party at the Centre, goes against the spirit of the Constitution”, Mr Naidu said in a tweet.
“We express our solidarity with the government of Delhi elected by people”, he added.
Earlier, several Chief Ministers including Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala, Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal and former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and actor- turned politician Kamal Haasan had also extended their support to the Delhi Chief Minister.
In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, Mr Kejriwal appealed to him to intervene in the matter.
Along with Mr Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and Cabinet Ministers Gopal Rai and Satyendra Jain are protesting at the LG’s house.
They demanded the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to direct IAS officers, who are on ‘strike’ in Delhi for past four months, to return to work.
They have also demanded that the LG punish those officers who struck work for past four months.
The Chief Minister and the AAP ministers also demanded that the LG approve Delhi government’s doorstep delivery of ration scheme.
