Modi slams “efforts” to glorify single family
Mohanpura (Rajgarh), MP, June 23 : Taking another swing at his favorite punching bag – the Gandhi family – albeit sans mentioning it by name, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today trashed “efforts” to glorify a single family.
Mr Modi made the statement while addressing a public meeting here after inaugurating the Rs 4,000 crore-Mohanpura Dam and laying the foundation of three irrigation projects.
“I greet every person associated with these projects. Inaugurating a project by pressing a button is a mere formality. The real inauguration has been done by your sweat and toil,” he said.
Remembering Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary while speaking on the occasion, the Premier lamented that “other children” of the country had been forgotten in the process of glorification of a single family.
“Dr Mukherjee’s thoughts used to be a confluence of education, finance and development. He stressed on education, health and security. His vision continues to be an inspiration,” he said.
Mr Modi pointed out that various schemes launched by the Centre and the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regimes are aligned with Dr Mukherjee’s vision.
Mentioning that the Centre has successfully completed four years in power and launched a number of welfare schemes during the period, Mr Modi lambasted the Opposition for misleading public.
“Some people are engaged in spreading falsehood and dejection in public. They have been disconnected with ground reality. You presence in such huge number is a testimony to the fact,” he added.
Tearing into the Congress for mocking employment-generating schemes, Mr Modi said that the Centre has launched the Mudra Yojana for creating employment opportunities.
Elaborating on various other schemes launched by the Centre, he said, “The Centre is ensuring that everyone is benefited through these schemes. These tasks could have been accomplished by earlier regimes. No one had stopped them. It is unfortunate that the party that ruled for such a long time did not trust you.”
“The present dispensation at the Centre has always adopted a positive outlook. Our government trusts on people and resources is committed to development,” added the Premier.
Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state BJP chief Rakesh Singh and Water Resources Minister Narottam Mishra were present.
