Sensex opens higher by 53 pts

Mumbai, Jun 27 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday rose by 53 points to open at 35,543.89 as buying was seen in selected stocks including FMCG, IT and Technology.
The Nifty of National Stocks Exchange (NSE) moved up by 16 points to 10,785.50.
The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 35,618.85 and 35,462.80 points respectively.
The sectoral indices like FMCG, IT and Technology kept the market in green in early trade. However, selling pressure in Consumer Durable, Finance, Telecom and Utilities kept the market
under pressure.
The gainers were Hind Unilever by 1.63 pc to Rs 1647.95, TCS by 1.19 pc to Rs 1874.75, HDFC by 0.86 pc to Rs 1929.80 and HDFC Bank by 0.83 pc to Rs 2110.50.
The losers were ONGC by 1.87 pc to Rs 155.10, ICICI Bank by 1.81 pc to Rs 282.80, NTPC by 1.38 pc to Rs 153.10 and Axis Bank by 1.17 pc to Rs 508.05.
