Sub standard mustard oil seeds supplied in Tral by Agriculture department draws a flak

Srinagar, Jul 01 : Sub standard mustard oil seeds supplied to farmers in South Kashmir’s Tral area have not given any yields this year resulting in the wastage of one full crop season in the area.
A legion of aggrieved farmers told that mustard oil sub standard seeds supplied by Agriculture department were grown by farmers in Lam, Aripal, Dar Ganaiegund, Larojageer and other villages of Tral area but even at the end of the season the farmers didn’t get any yield resulting in the wastage of their one full crop season.
A top official of the Agriculture directorate Kashmir told“we had supplied the mustard oil seeds to farmers on trial basis but the initiative has failed.”
The farmers have threatened mass protests if the department does not compensate the losses adequately within one month. (Agencies)
