Mirwaiz expresses grief over demise of Abdul Hameed Khan

Pays tributes to deceased for his social contributions

Srinagar, Jul 09 : Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and AAC head Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to remain under house detention since past many days, expressed grief over the demise of Abdul Hameed Khan, brother of senior AAC leader and member of Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid, Mohammad Shafi Khan.
Terming the death of Abdul Hameed Khan as a big loss for the Khan family, Mirwaiz spoke to Muhammad Shafi Khan and the son of deceased over phone and expressed his heartfelt condolence and sympathy with the bereaved family. Mirwaiz paid rich tributes to deceased for his social contributions. Mirwaiz also prayed for the highest standards in the jannah for the deceased.
On the directions of Mirwaiz, AAC and Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid delegation visited the residence of deceased Khan at Bemina which included Haji Muhammad Altaf, Moulana S Rehman Shams, Sufi Mushtaq, Peer Ghulam Nabi, Muhammad Yousuf Bhat and others, and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Speaking on the occasion, Moulana M S Rehman Shams said the members of Khan family has always been committed towards Kashmir’s freedom struggle and have been working on social and political fronts as well besides supporting AAC since its inception. Moulana Rehman also led the fatiah prayers for the deceased.
