Shatrughan Sinha meets Mehbooba, Tweets ‘Long Live Kashmir’

Srinagar, July 13 : Seeking to put the BJP into a tight spot, rebel saffron party leader Shatrughan Sinha on Friday said he met PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar and went onto say that for him “once a friend is always a friend”.
He also tweeted saying “Long Live Kashmir” and making a veiled attack on the BJP’s present leadership and
the Narendra Modi government said: “Today we remember with an attitude of gratitude Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji
and need to practice and preach Kashmiriat, Insaniyaat & Jamuriat in terms of solving the problems of Kashmir.
Long Live Kashmir. Jai Hind”.
In a series of tweets along with photographs of his meeting with PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, he said:
“To me once a friend, always a friend. While on an official tour in Srinagar for Transport, Tourism
and Culture Committee along with other MPs and Govt officials, I paid a special and personal visit to our
dear family friend and former CM of J& K Mehbooba Mufti, a worthy daughter of a worthy father”.
The cine star-turned-politician described Ms Mehbooba’s father Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as “great”
and said “even with recent developments”, the PDP MLAs are also “bold and loyal”.
However, he also sought to play safe saying: “We discussed everything except politics with
fondest regards for each other’s families. Also met some young and dynamic MLAs of her party”.
Mr Shatrughan Sinha’s meeting with Ms Mehbooba Mufti comes on a day former Chief Minister
has embarrassed BJP with her statement that – if Delhi (reference to central BJP leadership) tries to dismiss
the voting rights of people like in 1987 and tries to break PDP then the result will be “dangerous”. UNI
