Tral, 23 jul : Government forces on Monday launched a cordon-and-search operation in Rathsuna village of Tral township of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official said house-to-house searches were launched in the area following “specific inputs” about the presence of militants.
He said that Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu & Kashmir Police, army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 185 BN Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched the operation jointly.
As per locals, the searches were carried out several times in the area.
They said that the forces have sealed all the entry and exit points. The operation in the village was going on when this report was being filed.
