PDP’s disgruntled group least moves by Madni’s resignation
Says it will come up with 55 MLAs to form Govt
Srinagar, Jul 23 : Soon after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice president, Sartaj Madni tendered his resignation from the party’s vice presidentship, the party’s disgruntled leader and MLA Noorabad, Abdul Majeed Paddar on Monday termed it as a mere drama.
Earlier, Madni had claimed to have tendered his resignation as Vice President of PDP, saying, “I have submitted my resignation to party president Mehbooba Mufti in the larger interests of the party and for its strengthening, stability and unity.”
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, the Noorabad legislator said that taking such steps after damaging the party’s unity won’t emerge as a damage control exercise.
“The situation could have been different in case the party president had taken such decision herself prior to the damage of party’s unity,” he said, adding that such step of Madni is a ‘mere Drama’ and can’t emerge as a damage control exercise.
The PDP’s disgruntled leader further stated that such ‘Dramas’ won’t deter them. “Such decision should have been come from party’s president and that too much earlier. Now, these steps will not work,” he said.
Asked about his recent claims about 51 MLAs, Paddar said, “You have to wait a bit more. We will come up 55 MLAs not only 51 to form the government.” (KNS)
