Srinagar, 26 jul: A militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight with the government forces in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
Reports said that army’s 21 RR and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Sudal village following inputs about the presence of militants.
They said a gunfight broke out after militants fired upon the joint team of forces during the searches.
“In the retaliatory fire, one militant has been killed,” said an official.
