Sopore, 26 jul : Windstorm coupled with heavy rains wreaked havoc in Sopore town and its adjacent areas in north Kashmir Baramulla district on Wednesday evening.
Reports said that dozens of houses and apple orchards were damaged while a number of trees were uprooted by strong winds and heavy rains in Rafiabad and Zainageer belts.
Standing crops and electricity transmission poles were also damaged.
Rooftops of two residential houses belonging to Aabid Hussain Ali and Ali Muhammad Rather fell down due to strong winds at Syedpora while many houses were damaged at Model town, Shangargund, Brath Kalan, Arampora, Bohripora and Seelo.
However, there was no report of any loss of life or injuries. (Agencies)
