Puducherry, Aug 1 : The Puducherry Legislative assembly adjourned sine-die after passing the appropriation bill-2018 in a 25 minutes long sitting on Wednesday.
The session was re-convened to pass the appropriation bill and the same was passed by voice vote.
It may be noted that the budget session which was scheduled to end on July 27 was cut-short in the issue of the three nominated members following which the Lt Governor refused to give approval for the appropriation bill.
Following this development the house adjourned sine-die on July 19 without passing the finance bill.
Later, when the supreme court expressed hope that the three nominated members be allowed in the house on July 19, Lt Governor Kiran Bedi gave approval for the appropriation bill on the same condition.
Putting an end to all speculations, assembly secretary Vincent Rayer extended invitation to the three nominated members -Saminathan ,Shankar and Selvaganapathy-(All BJP activists) and the three attended the session on Wednesday.
