Sensex opens higher by 37 pts
Mumbai, Aug 1 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday opened higher by 37 points to 37,643 point 87 on renewed buying in Materials, Energy, Health Care and Telecom stocks, ahead of RBI’s Monetary policy on Wednesday.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too moved up by 3 points, to 11,359.80.
In scrips like TCS, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Auto and VEDL gained.
The Sensex registered intra day high ane low at 37,711.87 and 37,513.19, respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,390.55 and 11,350.70, respectively.
The gainers were TCS by 1.50 per cent to Rs 1970.45, Sun Pharma by 0.97 per cent to Rs 572.15, Bajaj Auto by 0.97 per cent to Rs 2727 and VEDL by 0.90 per cent to Rs 224.25.
The losers were Tata Motors DVR by 1.84 per cent to Rs 141.55, Tata Motors by 1.68 per cent to Rs 259.70, Maruti Suzuki by 1.66 per cent to Rs 9348.25 and Axis Bank by 1.45 pc to Rs 542.15.
