Srinagar: At least 7 protesters sustained injuries after clashes erupted near the gunfight site at Killora village of Shopian where five militants were killed by forces in a gunfight which ended on Saturday.
District Hospital sources told that they received 7 civilians in an injured state who were being treated.
They added that one among the injured had bullet injury and was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment along with two more injured.
Earlier scores of youth started pelting stones on forces near and around the gunfight site triggering clashes.
Police sources said that gunfight has ended and forces have left the area.
Witnesses said that the gunfight has taken place in open and no residential house has suffered any major damages.
The gunfight had started last evening after forces launched a search operation. One militant was killed in the initial firing. Police sources said that identification of the slain militants is being ascertained. (Agencie)
