Police bar Class 11 students’ protest; In police vehicle driven to DSEK office
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday sought permission from Class 11 students to protest in Press Enclave in Srinagar.
A student told that dozens of students of various schools including the Tyndale Biscoe School, SP Higher Secondary School, Green Valley Educational Institute assembled in press enclave Srinagar.
They said that the students had assembled to protest against the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education department’s “dictatorial order” to hold the examinations in October.
The students said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel did not allow them to protest.
The students alleged that almost half a dozen students were put in a police vehicle and were taken to Director school education’s office. “We do not know for what the police bundled students and took them to director’s office,” the students said.
The students are aghast with the government decision to start exams from October. They have for the last several days staged protests in Srinagar and other districts demanding deferment of exams till mid-November.
