JK Urdu council seeks intervention of Guv for establishing Moulana Azad Urdu varsity

Srinagar, Dec 22 : Jammu and Kashmir Urdu council has sought the intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik over the obstructions coming in the way of establishing of Moulana Azad Urdu Satellite University.
In a statement to KNS, the council in a statement alleged that some influential people are hell bent upon grabbing the land purchased for Moulana Azad Urdu University and termed such attempts in tolerable.
Saying that Jammu and Kashmir is the only state in the country where Urdu has been declared an official language. The council said if Urdu University can’t be established in Jammu and Kashmir than it can’t be issued anywhere else in the country. The council said that the land allotted for the university in 2013 has been neither fenced nor have the buildings been constructed on the land.
Terming the quiescent approach of the authorities intolerable, the council alleged that Urdu is being given a step motherly treatment and council deserves the right to launch a public protest against the casual approach the authorities.
Appealing Advisor to Governor holding the charge of education portfolio Khursheed Ahmad Ganai to immediate intervene and remove obstructions coming in the way of establishing the University, the council urged him to take steps for taking steps to immediately start the construction of the university.
