Sehrai pays tribute to slain Tral militants

Srinagar, Dec 22 : Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Mohd Ashraf Sehrai has said the forces have yet again demonstrated that ‘they become bloodthirsty monsters’.
“Every day there are incidents of gashing of eyes, killing, maiming and blinding Kashmiris including toddlers, torching of their villages along with crops and destruction of their business as well as economic life,” Sehrai said in a statement issued to KNS.
“In yet another gory act of unscrupulous violence today in Tral where six militants offered their lives for the liberation of Kashmir,” he added.
Paying tributes and homage to the slain Tral militants, Sehrai said, “We as a nation are indebted to these pious sacrifices and it’s our religious and moral duty to safe guard these exemplary sacrifices collectively.”
He said Kashmiri people were facing the ‘worst kind of Indian state terrorism’ but despite that they would take their liberation movement to its logical conclusion.
“Despite having been subjected to the worst inhuman experiences over the years, the people of Kashmir have developed a firm belief that ‘there is no U-turn on the way to liberty’,” he added.
Sehrai said there could be two approaches to Kashmir dispute. “One is to surrender before India and surrender can be in any form, be it autonomy, LoC as permanent border, Indian sovereignty over United States of Kashmir, self rule or self governance as some supporters propagated to create confusion among the masses. The other way is to accept with clarity and without doubts that we are under Indian occupation and we have to end it,” he said.
“The blood-soaked bodies of Kashmiri men, women and children strongly validate their unflinching resolve that their crave for freedom from subjugation would never diminish; rather it will increase with every passing day and with each new act of Indian brutality in the valley,” he said.
“The Indian policy since inception speaks volumes for oppression and suppression, especially the ones brought under subjugation by force or deceit. These brutalities are committed in order to deter the people of Kashmir from raising their just voice peacefully which is being supported by the masses in the form of huge peaceful protests, suppressing this just voice of people by using unbridled power, such movements never die,” he said.
“To change the situation it is indispensable to listen to the genuine demand of the people and take positive steps for fulfilling it according to the wishes of general people,” he added.
Sehrai impressed upon international human rights institutions, UNO /UNHRC/European Union and OIC to send their delegations for reading the present situation of the valley and listen to the woos of the people and also take note of the atrocities committed by government of India upon the hapless Kashmiris.
“Further, the real aspirations of people are to be ascertained and take concrete steps for the final resolutions of Kashmir issue,” h said, expressing solidarity with the bereaved families of the slain youth.
Meanwhile, Sehrai condemned the slapping of PSA on TeH activist Nazir Ahmed Mantoo of Shopian and his shifting to the Kathua Jail.
“Instead of releasing him on medical and humanitarian grounds was rearrested from hospital where he had gone surgery,” he said, terming the slapping of PSA on a bed ridden sick person as ‘a glaring example of mental bankruptcy of the rulers’.
