Despite concerned official action recommendation, the higher authorities have turned a blind eye from regular absentees of doctors in Kishtwar
Kishtwar, Jan 05: The regular absentees of doctors in block Marwah, Dachan and Warwan has become a serious matter for people living in there, while it has also become a debatable issue for higher authorities in providing the best administrative governance to the common masses at grass root level. But irony is that the present expected and responsible authorities have turned a blind eye from the current system of Kishtwar where one can easily be allowed to get the proper month salary even after not giving a day to service provided by the government for serving the common masses irrespective of religion and caste.
As per the action recommendation report CMO/K/NRHM 989-93 dated: 04-12-2018, a brief action recommendation was submitted by Kishtwar CMO to Kishtwar DC and the same copy copied to the Principle secretary to Govt., Director Health service Jammu and Mission Director NHM J&K for the purpose of providing information to them on the status of doctors in block Dachan as on 01-12-2018. In this report, the CMO has mentioned the status of several doctors even of those who have not performed their official duty since a half year despite lot of notices served to them accordingly.
According to the report, a lady doctor posted at PHC Dachan proceeded maternity leave on 01/02/2018 for a period of 180 days. BMO has informed that she has not joined till 01/12/2018 in spite of notices served to her from time to time, says action recommendation report of CMO Kishtwar.
The report says that one lady doctor posted at CHC Marwah found absconding since 15th May 2018 till December 2018 despite several notices served to her from time to time, while the next at PHC Afti has attended only two days since January 2017 as per record. Meanwhile, the CMO Kishtwar visited on 17 october 2018 and found her abscent.
The report further says that one doctor at Block Dachan proceeded maternity leave on 1st March 2018 for a period of 180 days, but has not joined till December 2018 despite several notices served to her from time to time.
Few days ago, the death of a lady namely Jana Begum W/O Gh. Rasool Ranu resident of village Chokhrana in Block Marwah died due to the lack of facilities and non-availability of doctors at there as alleged by local residents. Meanwhile, the youth of Marwah, Dacha and Warwan briefed a press conference in Kishtwar regarding the poor medical facilities and regular doctor’s absenteeism in Marwah, Dachan and Warwan. In order to take action, the CMO Kishtwar placed several NHM employees under suspension after receiving the message of SHO Marwah regarding closure of Health Centre, and the message of deputy chief medical officer Kishtwar regarding the absence of NHM employees at CHC Marwah.
It is pertinent to mention here that the earlier action recommendation submitted by the CMO Kishtwar on 14th of December 2018 to DC Kishtwar, director health service Jammu, Principal Secretary to Government of Health and Medical Education department, Mission Director NHM J&K etc, is still under the process of consideration.
