All party meet on Pulwama attack begins, Govt to brief Opposition on situation in valley following Pulwama, future course of action
New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI): The all party meeting convened by the Government
to brief leaders of various opposition parties on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir following a terrorist attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, which led to killing of 40 CRPF personnel on Thursday afternoon, began here on Saturday. .
At the meeting , being attended by Leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress leader Anand Sharma, Satish Chandra Mishra of the BSP, D Raja of the CPI, , Farooq Abdullah of the National conference and leaders of other opposition parties, the government is likely to brief opposition parties it’s future course of action.
The decision to convene the all-party meeting was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
“It was decided in CCS meeting that the Home Minister Rajnath Singh will hold the all party meeting soon once he is back from Srinagar”, the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told media after emerging from meeting.
The main Opposition party Congress has extended all support to the Government and the security forces.
Mr Singh rushed to Srinagar on Friday after attending the CCS meeting and held ahigh level meeting with top officials of the Army,CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security stakesholders in the state.
Ahead of the All party meeting, , Mr Singh also held a meeting on Saturday morning with Union Home Secretary and Chiefs of Intelligence agencies at his residence and was who briefed about the progress in the investigations in last 36 hours.

The all party meet has been called to seek a unanimous view of Government’s future course of action.
An explosive laden vehicle was rammed to a CRPF convoy of 78 vehicles carrying more than 2,500 Central Reserve Police Force jawans from Jammu to Srinagar, killing 40 jawans and several injured on Thursday afternoon.
