ENFORCEMENT DRIVE AGAINST TAX DEFAULTERS AND COLLECTION OF PENALTY WORTH RS. 19.73 LACS BY STATE TAXES DEPARTMENT , KASHMIR DIVISION

Srinagar : Continuing with the drive against the tax defaulters, the enforcement team led by Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Bhat-KAS, Additional Commissioner, State Taxes, (Administration & Enforcement) Kashmir along with State Taxes Officers of the department, pursuant to the directions of the Commissioner State Taxes, Mr. P. K. Bhat-KAS, carried out inspections of dealers falling within the territorial jurisdiction of Districts of Srinagar and Ganderbal. The dealers include M/s Galaxy India , M/s Maq Hardware Store, M/s Royal Marble & Sanitary Store and others. The documents of these taxpayers were seized on the spot and action as warranted under the J&K GST Act, 2017 and rules framed thereunder has been initiated against them. An amount of Rs. 19.73 lacs has been realized from the defaulting dealers by the department so far under Enforcement.
State Taxes Department, through this publication , advises the dealers to avoid using dishonest practices for evasion of tax and are informed to adhere to the provisions of the GST Act, 2017 and the rules framed there under, strictly in letter and spirit.
