Srinagar: Peoples Conference leadership, in a special meeting to commemorate the martyrdom of late Abdul Gani Lone and Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq, paid rich tributes to both leaders for struggling to uphold the dignity and honor of the people of Kashmir.

“We pay homage to Late Abdul Gani Lone and Late Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq for the supreme sacrifice they made for Kashmir. It is time we remember their vision and far sightedness for the Kashmiri people. They remind us of a golden era of politics where moderate politics and intellectualism were the defining attributes of leadership”, PC general secretary Imran Reza Ansari said in a statement.

Imran further said that both leaders were victims of violence prevalent in the state for the last three decades.

“We also want the people to remember that scourge of violence consumed late Lone sahib and Mirwaiz Sahib. We pray and hope that this violence comes to an end”, he added.

Meanwhile PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone, senior vice president Abdul Gani Vakil, Bashir Ahmad Dar, Raja Aijaz Ali, Mohammad Abbas Wani, Irfan Panditpori, Junaid Mattoo and Adnan Ashraf Mir also paid glowing tributes to Late Abdul Gani Lone and Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq for their immense contribution and invaluable sacrifice.
