Funds shortage allegedly halts work in Jammu’s ‘Jambu Zoo’


Jammu, Jun 14 (UNI) The work on one of the major tourism booster of Jammu region being constructed in an area of 227 hectares, ‘Jambu Zoo’ coming up here on city outskirts along Jammu-Srinagar national highway, has come to a halt allegedly due to shortage of funds.
The zoo is being constructed at an estimated cost of 121 crores and developed by the State Forest Department.
“The ‘Jambu Zoo’ project is amounting to Rs 121 crore and being developed by State Forest Department in an area about 227 hectares,” Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation here told UNI.
