Sumbal, July 16, CNS: Grief descended upon the residents of Shahtal Pora Sumbal in Bnadipora district of North Kashmir, when two kids playing on the banks of River Jehlum fell in the water and drowned.

One of the kids was rescued; however search is on for the other.

According to the reports received by CNS, the incident occurred in late afternoon on Tuesday, when two boys aged six to seven, namely Azahar Abbas Waza s/ o Mohammad Abbas Waza and Ghazi Hussain Dar s/o Shabir Ahmed Dar, both residents of Shahtal Pora Sumbal were playing by the riverside, when they suddenly slipped into the water and drowned.

Locals, with the help of police rescued Azhar Abbas Waza, however Ghazi Hussain dar could have not been traced till reports last came in.

“The condition of Azhar Abbas is critical and has been referred for further treatment, while the search operation to trace Ghazi Hussain Dar is going on” SHO Sumbal told CNS on phone. (CNS)
