Article 370 & CAA figure in HP Governor’s address
Shimla, Feb 25 (UNI) Abrogation of Article 370 and enactment of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) along with Supreme Court’s decisions on Ram temple figured in Himachal Pradesh Governor’s address in the state Assembly here on Tuesday.
Mr Bandaru Dattatreya mentioned about removing of Article 370 and carving out two union territories from erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir.
He further said enactment of CAA was needed to provide special citizenship to persecuted religious minorities of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
While addressing the session, the Governor said the Jai Ram Thakur government hailed the landmark decisions of the Centre which include scraping of Article 370 and enactment of CAA.
He also hailed the Supreme Court’s decision on Ram Janmabhoomi land dispute which paved the way for
construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhaya.
Mr Dattatreya also laid emphasis on the Prime Minister Flagship Scheme PM Kissan Samman Yojana stating that Rs 597 crore was distributed to about 8.5 lakh beneficiary farmers of this hill state.
It is interesting to mention that similar achievement of the Union Government was highlighted in the President’s Address delivered by President Ram Nath Kovind on January 31, 2020.
