Huge quantity of Brown Sugar recovered from Karnah

Srinagar, Oct 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that a huge quantity of narcotics was recovered from Karnah area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, which was stored in an abandoned house.

An official told news agency KDC that during a joint force’s operation of 2 Jatt Regiment of Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, conducted in presence of a magistrate 7 Kilograms of contraband Brown Sugar was recovered from a un-inhabited house in Jabda area of Karnah Tehsil in North district Kupwara.

The officials further said that the abandoned house belongs to a man, namely Mushtaq Ahmed Lone son of Abdul Rehman Lone, presently residing in Suleman village of Karnah Tehsil.

He said that FIR regarding the recovery of contraband narcotic substance, Brown Sugar has been lodged in the concerned police station under number 79 of 2020.

The FIR has been lodged under section 8/21 of NDPS Act and further investigation into the matter has been set into the motion. (KDC)
