The Janata Dal United (JDU) today held a massive one-day party convention at Achabal, Anantnag, under the dynamic leadership of Party President G.M. Shaheen.
The convention witnessed the presence of the complete State Executive, district leadership, senior functionaries, and a large number of party workers, reflecting the growing strength and momentum of JDU in South Kashmir.
Addressing the convention, G.M. Shaheen issued a clear and uncompromising call to the party cadre to fully prepare for the upcoming Panchayat and Municipal elections. He emphasized that the time for complacency is over and directed party leaders to immediately move into election mode.
Shaheen announced a strict booth-level strategy, directing that every booth must have at least two committed and accountable party leaders, ensuring round-the-clock coordination and direct public outreach. He instructed
District President Nezamuddin and district-level teams to complete booth formation, voter connect programs, and organizational strengthening without delay.
Launching a scathing attack on the National Conference and PDP, Shaheen said that both parties have completely failed politically, morally, and administratively. He accused them of misleading the people, betraying public trust, and exploiting emotions for personal and family-centric politics. Shaheen asserted that decades of misrule by these parties have left people disillusioned and deprived of genuine development.
“NC and PDP have nothing to show except hollow slogans and false promises. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered enough due to their politics of deception and incompetence,” Shaheen said.
He stated that Janata Dal United stands as a credible, honest, and development-oriented alternative, committed to strengthening democratic institutions, empowering Panchayats, and ensuring governance reaches the grassroots level.
Shaheen appealed to the people, especially youth and grassroots workers, to rally behind JDU for a transparent, accountable, and people-centric political future, emphasizing that only JDU has the vision and resolve to work in the real interest of the common people.
The convention concluded with a unanimous resolve to strengthen the party organization and fight the upcoming elections with full force and discipline.
