DDC kick starts Chinar plantation drive at Ganderbal

Ganderbal: District Commissioner Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganie on Monday planted Chinar tree saplings in Mini-Secretariat in Ganderbal. He was accompanied with senior officers of Floriculture, besides other district officials.
The Chinar tree is a part of our heritage and symbolises the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Today we started this drive and we want that it will continue until the end of this Month. People can plant Chinar trees wherever they want. They should go to their local floriculture office and Chinar saplings will be provided free of cost, floriculture officer said.
The Chinar trees are an integral part of Kashmiri culture.
