10 Congress workers join PDP in Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH,MAR 20— The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today asked party leaders and workers to gear up for the Panchayat elections which are expected to be held soon in Jammu and Kashmir.”Party leaders and workers should gear up for the Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat elections, expected to be held soon in Jammu and Kashmir,” PDP General Secretary Seikh Mehboob Iqbal said.While addressing the party workers meet here today, Seikh said the party needs to be ready for the election to take the state forward.”We have to make our party ready so that we win the election with success and take this state forward,” he added.However at least 10 Congress workers led by senior leader Mohd Farooq Sheikh from Chinta area of Bhaderwah joined the ruling Peoples Democratic Party here today .The Congress leaders joined the PDP at the residence of the party’s General Secretray Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal , alleging that the Congress in Bhaderwah was ignoring their concerns and not doing much for the development of the area.They claimed that Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal is “working hand-in-hand with common people and we have therefore decided to strengthen his hands.”Thakur Yudvir Singh Baloria zonal president Bhaderwah also spoke on the occasion and hailed the decision of state government led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for approving ADC office, Mini Secretariat and tourism projects in Bhaderwah .He alleged that Congress always ignored Bhaderwah and work for other areas in a pre planned manner . Sajid Mir , Chaman Gupta , Munju Madam , Irshad Laway , Kweal Krishan Kotwal , Chini Lal , Idress Malik , Rafiq Bhagwan , Mohd Saleem and other also spoke on the occasion .
