BHADERWAH,MAR 21–World Forest Day was observed in Green Model Academy Bhaderwah where a one day seminar was organised by school administration in collaboration with Association for Sustainable Development of Urban and Rural Development in which awareness as given to all participants about the need to conserve forests. Speakers in the seminar advised all the experts, students and concerned members of the civil society present on the occasion, to play a vital role for the protection of the forests. “Historical Bhaderwah town are required to be decorated by evergreen deodar trees as they can play both pro-environmental role and also enhance the beauty and grace of the area. Adequate steps are to be required for saving existing Chinar trees, speakers said .Rizwan Ahmed a 5th class student said that entire forest component of the Bhaderwah Valley is a part of its rich civilization. “Our great saints and Awali-Kirams have mediated in captivating atmosphere of forests and reached to the heights of spirituality,” he said. “The devastation caused to our green forest during turmoil is required to be repaired now by launching a vigorous deodar plantation and also work seriously for the protection of our heritage Chinar trees,” said Rashid Moghal Chairman ASSURE . He also pointed out that foreign Russian popular trees are threat to our environment. “They cause more environmental hazards than any benefit to the society. A skirt was also presented by the school children on the occasion.Prizes and certificates of merits were also distributed among all participants . The function was attended among other including Saleem Wani, Arif Rana , Haroon Khan forester , Sameer Reshu ,Shakeel Ahmed Mir , Anaytullah Bhatt , Masood Ahmed alias Pappu sir and others .
