Now, Mirza Sajad to contest by-polls on RJKP ticket
Files nomination paper, says will fight against RSS
Srinagar: In a surprising move, the candidate chosen by Janata Dal (united), Mirza Sajad Hussain Beigh Tuesday decided to contest the by-polls on Rashtriya Jan Kranti Party (RJKP) ticket.
Mirza filed the nomination papers for Srinagar parliamentary seat today.
After filing his nomination paper, the RJP’s Srinagar candidate addressed a press conference here at local hotel during which he said that he decided to contest the Srinagar by-polls on RJKP ticket as the JD (U) is indirectly supporting the ‘BJP and RSS raj’.
“The party informed me on Monday that they will participate in the elections. I believe the party was indirectly extending its support to the RSS raj,” he said, adding that he would contest the by-polls with an aim to keep the RSS at bay.
“In a short span of time, RJKP managed to choose its Srinagar candidate only but in the upcoming Panchayat and other polls, we will try to choose candidates from all the districts and the constituencies,” he said.
“My focus would remain on showing the exit door to the RSS, banning pellet guns and to ensure free atmosphere to journalists while performing their professional duties,” he said.
