Woman’s mysterious death sparks protest in Tral, family demands probe

Tral: Protest demonstration was held on Wednesday against the mysterious death of a woman here in Chaan Kitar Village of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The protestors were alleging that the woman was murdered by her husband and were demanding justice.

Demanding immediate arrest of the accused, locals from Panzoo area of Tral town on Wednesday staged a massive protest in their village.

 

The family members who were part of protest claimed that Woman’s husband was always fighting and beating her since last four years and she was finally murdered by him last week.

“My daughter Shugufta was married in 2011 at Chaan Kitar Village. Soon after the marriage , her husband started fighting and beating her because he wanted to marry another girl of his choice which became the cause of murdering my daughter ,” the father of Shugufta said.

The protesters alleged that authorities are taking time to solve the case despite several requests from people.

“We want immediate arrest of deceased Woman’s husband, who is roaming freely. His hand in this murder can’t be ruled out,” said the protesters.

Meanwhile, Police said that they have already taken the cognizance of this matter and have started further investigation.

“We are trying our best to ascertain the cause of death of woman ,” said a police official.
