Srinagar: A photojournalist working with a local English newspaper Kashmir Observer, Abid Bhat was severely injured while covering stone pelting at Rawalpora after Friday prayers.
Abid was quoted by a newspaper as saying that he was hit by a protective shield of a policeman who tried to pull the shield to protect himself from being hit by a stone, thrown at forces.
Abid was standing behind the policemen to capture the clashes.
“I was hit on the eye-brow and was immediately rushed to City hospital in Hyderpora area of civil lines of Srinagar,” said Abid
He received six stitches in the injured eyebrow.
