Sopore police organizes seminar on drug addiction

Sopore Police today organized a seminar and Inter class speech competition on Drug Addiction  at Sanctorum Institute of Education ,Sopore. The seminar was chaired by SSP Sopore Shri. Harmeet Singh Mehta KPS accompanied by SDM Sopore Shri Bashir Ahmad.

The seminar was attended by large number of students and faculty members of the Institute, Civil Society, Traders’ Federation,media persons.

In the seminar Students of the Sanctorum Institute of Education participated actively and expressed their views on drug abuse and it’s adverse effects.

The representatives of Civil Society, Traders Federation, Teacher’s Forum, and prominent citizens expressed their valuable knowledge and opinions regarding drug abuse. The speakers highlighted the hazards of drug abuse and its ill effects on health and society.

Speaking on the occasion the chief guest  SSP Sopore Shri Harmeet Singh Mehta said ,”it is responsibility of every individual of our society to join hands to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from the society.

Police has established Drug de-addiction centre not only in Baramulla but in Srinagar and Anantanag also,  to help the affected population and that Police is committed to provide all possible help to make the society free from menace of drug abuse.

On the occasion SSS Sopore also gifted some study material to the students.

At the end prizes were distributed to the top 3 winners of the seminar.

SDPO Sopre Shri. Dr. G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy IPS, SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Mir Murtaza Hussain KPS, Dy. Sp. DAR Shri. Mashkoor Zargar KPS, Dy. Sp. Ops Shri. Showkat Ahmad KPS, Dy. Sp Majid Ali KPS and SHO P/S. Tarzoo Shri Mir Yousuf ,officers from Army and CRPF also attended the seminar.
