Srinagar: In a horrific incident of its kind in North Kashmir a girl namely Shabeena Bano (name changed) aged 25 years daughter of Mohd Akbar Sheikh from Palpora Kralgund was attacked with acid by one boy namely Ajaz Ah Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar of Palpora Kralgund and has received severe burn injuries. The girl has been admitted to District Hospital Baramulla with severe burn injuries.
According to sources the boy who threw acid was harassing and stalking her for quite some time.
Police while taking serious note of the incident has arrested one boy namely Abass Najar son of Yaqoob Najar as the boy was involved in transportation of acid but the main culprit is still at large.
Meanwhile a FIR No 14 u/s 307 has been registered in this regard at police station Kralgund.
While talking to Kashmir Age SDPO Handwara Shabir Khan told that we have arrested one of the accused and also a manhunt has been launched to nab the acid thrower and very soon the perpetrator will be put behind bars and will be brought to justice at an earliest.
