Geelani appeals int’l community to take practical steps on RSD
Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani stressed international community to take practical steps and help people of J&K in their struggle for right to self-determination.
Reacting to the Indian response & denial against the statement of US representative in the UN, Nikki Haley, wherein she said that the US will play an active role in de-escalating tension and mediate in facilitating talks between India and Pakistan, Syed Ali Geelani said that the response from Indian authorities vindicates that their stance is unsubstantiated and proves their occupation as unjustified and unlawful.
Reacting to the statement of Indian external affairs minister, Syed Ali Geelani said that it is outcome of their autocratic approach & India stands exposed.
In a statement issued to media, Syed Ali Geelani said that more than eighteen resolutions were passed in UN and both India and Pakistan are signatories to these resolutions. However, the stubborn & unrealistic attitude of Indian authorities is creating hurdles for implementation of these resolutions, said Geelani.
The UN resolutions ensure lasting solution and peace and America and other interested countries are welcome and they should find way and means & intervene to implement resolution to seek people’s verdict about their aspirations, said Geelani.
It is disheartening that world community failed to ask or make them accountable for their unrealistic and rigid approach, said Geelani.
Commenting over the role played by member countries of UN, Syed Ali Geelani said that till now though they in their initiatives tried to find solution to Kashmir issue, however, India’s denial and its reluctance is proving a big problem.
Syed Ali Geelani said that It is rather improbable that countries offering their mediation never come clear & till now though a few member countries in their daring steps offered their services for its resolutions, however their steps were conditional and it was always left to the discretion of parties to acknowledge these proposals.
Geelani said that Indian authorities don’t follow ethics, they follow their colonial mindset and hence never cooperated to find any way out to solve this issue.
Geelani while reacting to the statement of Mrs. Sushma Suraj, wherein she said that whole of Jammu & Kashmir including Gilgit- Baltistan belongs to India, said that it is their ignorance and statement is far from reality. It is ridiculous to deny the facts, said Geelani & instead of showing response & reason, they are relying on lies, said Geelani.
J&K is not anyone’s personal property, nobody has ownership rights, said Geelani and state belongs to 15 million people living in.
Warning Sushma Suraj and Indian leadership, Geelani said that unrealistic and improper rhetoric won’t help you nor these measures and statements can help you to continue present state of forced occupation.
Blaming Indian authorities for their egoistic attitude, Geelani said that their unrealistic approach is the root cause of prevailing uncertainty in the region & situation is turning explosive. Geelani said that measures are needed to check growing tension in the region lest it may culminate into a major catastrophe
