Kargil: To express tribute on 128 anniversary of Baba Saheb Ambedkar , a talk on “Reconceptualising B.R. Ambedkar” was organized by Students’ Educational Movement Kargil (SEMOK) Ladakh today at Cultural Academy Hall Kargil .Various speakers on this occasion spoken on the contributions of Dr Ambedkar ,his life and struggle.
During the program, His ideas on constitutionalism, social and economic justice were thoroughly discussed. Mohd Taqi Assistant Director Employment spoken on the occasion appreciated the efforts of SEMOK for organizing these kinds of academic gatherings and stated that these kinds of talks will surely contribute to the social political emancipation of the disadvantaged sections of society.
While discussing the development of the policy of reservation in India, said that Dr Ambedkar never intended it to be a permanent feature of Indian Polity. He asked the students to take inspiration from the life of Dr Ambedkar, his hard work and the height’s which he attained just because of his hard work.
Prominent Poet and Writer Nasiruddin Khafi said that the teachings of Ambedkar are very much inspirational for the people. He said, “I think the best place to discuss Ambedkar’s contribution is Kargil as we are being treated by government as untouchables”.
Sajjad Kargili Kargil based journalist has expressed his resentment and accused government that our fundamental right to freedom of expression is being snatched and now the government is mute spectator over the ongoing assault on minorities, Students and other backward classes.
He said, “The idea of Ambedkar’s india has disappeared somewhere and we are living in an era where we are being told what to eat, wear and speak”.
Meanwhile s telephonic speechof Kacho Fayaz Yabgo a Phd. Scholar from Kargil studying in Scotalnd was played during the program .
Others who have spoken on the occasion were Gulzar Hussain, Mohammad Yasin Ansari, Mustafa Kamal, Syed Mehdi Agha, Gulzar Hussain, Amina Banoo , Nasir Hussain and Mohammad Hanifa .
Its pertinent to mention here that with the people of entire country the people of entire country today celebrating 126th birth anniversary of the architect of Indian Constitution .
