Ganderbal: Despite the centre government making Aadhaar cards mandatory for LPG Subsidy, must for Passport, vital for Government Employees and much more but still scores of people in Ganderbal is without of Adhaar cards while there is only two operators in only Adhaar centre at Ganderbal which irked people.
Now the value of Aadhaar has drastically increased. Which is not only be useful but also mandatory to avail benefits of various government schemes and services, although the Enrollment Centres (ECs) for generation of NPR smart cards is working in Ganderbal but as per the reports the residents (enroller) have to wait for two to four months to get their serial numbers and enrolled themselves.
The enrollers on Mini-secretriate premises said that ignoring the repeated pleas authorities in Ganderbal are only assuring the locals as their remains fatiguable people. Where on Ganderbal enrolment centre only two operating systems are working for thousands of people which is sheer discrimination with us and headache for duo operators, they added.
There were only one Adhaar operating centre across the district whose primary job is to generate Aadhaar cards and also rectify errors reported by the people, yet a larger number of population in Ganderbal district haven’t been enrolled under Aadhaar due to abating of adhaar enrolment centre in district, one enroller on spot at Mini- Secretriate said.
The large number of people (enroller) on spot at Ganderbal urged the district authorities to increase the enrollment centres as there are still large number of people who have not been enrolled and their biometrics have not been taken yet, they added.
