‘Seized 97.4 Feet Deodar Timber’

GANDERBAL, May 11: Forest Protection Department on Wednesday seized 97.4 feet of timber in Najwan village of kangan area in central kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
According to Mohammad Ashraf, Assistant Director Forest Protection Force Ganderbal, he said that they have seized illegal 97.4 feet (Deodar) timber in forest compartment no 1 of Sindh Range in Najwan area of the district and have started an investigation, he added
Meanwhile locals alleged that the loot of green gold in Najwan area of Ganderbal Forest division is at its peak and they have requested the higher authorities to look into the matter and save our heritage from getting destroyed meanwhile they also alleged that department have failed to act against the erring officers involved in chopping down green trees.
