Ganderbal: Make the tourist destination clean, Sonamarg Development Authority is gearing up for an intense cleaning drive on fast track basis, ahead of the wastage collection drive to be carried out with the support of Clean Sonamarg a tourist destination of Ganderbal.
The drive was which was monitored by Chief Executive Officer (SDA) Mr Qazi Sarwar, was launched by SDA Field squad besides officials of Sonamarg development Authority. The area is important for tourists, the famous ski resort of Sonamarg and a way to Amaranth yatra. During the endeavor of SDA field squad the entire pasture land of Sonamarg underwent sanitation. Besides all wastage were removed and deposal all wastage in safer place so that tourist enjoy fully here and can not suffer with filth smell, it said.
SDA urged the locals, shopkeepers to support the department’s efforts to maintain cleanliness on pasture land, market places in Sonamarg and refrain from throwing waste in designated place and avoid carless behaviour which might harm the ecosystem.
Within hours long drive, the entire tourist destination of Sonamarg, which was in need of such efforts, wore a new look devoid of any kind of solid, glass plastic and wastes which gets accumulated on its safer place due to tidal effects. In a good move by daily wager workers of SDA besides officials full of plastic bottles, glass bottles, polythenes and other wastes were picked up from the destination and were transported to safer place for disposal. Altogether SDA field squad (daily wagers) including the staff of the department participated in cleanliness drive with great enthusiasm and dedication.
“We have been working in the department for the last twelve years during every season even harsh cold or in dusty and hot summer and to clear the destination, in spite of this we feel better and doing our jobs with pride, after all it is our duty to clean the destination and to keep clean the surrounding without any any filth thing. Howsoever our services have not been regularised yet but have some ray of hopes for regularisation because we are doing our best,” Association president Mushtaq Lone said.
In a good move, the field squad working in the department day and night, during yatria months or any other time they made evey arrangements for their amenities and luxuries and clean its roads, parks while in winter times they don’t bear if assets are under the heavy snow, immediately with out wasting time clearing the SDA assets, they added while launch sanction drive.
