Sabazar among two militants killed in Tral encounter
TRAL: Two militants including Hizib commander, Sabzar Ahmad Bhat, have been killed in the encounter that erupted in Saimu area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
Another militant killed in the gunfight has been identified as Faizan, a teenager who has reportedly joined ranks recently. Sabzar was close aide of slain Hizb commander Burhan wani who was killed on july 8 last year.
Earlier on Friday night, police said, suspected militants fired upon a patrolling party that triggered encounter. Soon after a cordon was laid around the village for entire night. However, no exchange of fire was reported till morning. Reports said the encounter begins again after militants opened fire on forces.
Meanwhile, clashes erupted in the nearby village of Rathsuna after locals tried to break the cordon to reach the encounter site. Dozens of civilians were injured after forces fired pellets and burst teargas, shells to disperse the protesters. The village is located adjacent to Saimoh where a fierce gunfight rages today morning. The injured youth were shifted to Sub District Hospital Tral for treatment.
