Valley returns to normalcy, mobile, train services restored
SRINAGAR: After three days of complete shutdown life returns to normalcy in Kashmir valley. All business establishments, schools and government offices resumes functioning normally.
Reports reaching from all major towns of district headquarters said that all shops were opened besides traffic was plying normally. There were no restrictions anywhere in Kashmir and life was going on normally across the valley.
The phone service which was suspended following the killing of Hizib commander Sabzar Bhat and his associate Faizan Ahmad was restored. Train services were also resumed after remaining suspended for security reasons.
Official said that all trains between Srinagar-Badgam-Sopore and Baramulla in north Kashmir are running as per schedule. Similarly, train services from Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region also resumed
Meanwhile traffic was resumed on the Srinagar-Jammu and Srinagar-Leh national highways besides historic Mughal road after remaining suspended for two days due to security reasons.
However, the officials said class work in all schools and colleges in the districts of Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama and Budgam has been suspended for the day as a precautionary measure.
They said all higher secondary schools and colleges in Srinagar have also been closed for today.
Official said that the class work in few higher secondary schools and colleges in the districts of Ganderbal and Kupwara has also been suspended for the day, but university-level examinations were being conducted as per the schedule.
