Students raise voice against teasing, take out protest rally in Bhaderwah 

BHADERWAH : The students of Govt Hr Sec School girls , Bhaderwah today raised their voice against stunt biking and eve-teasing incidents by taking out a protest rally .Carrying placards and raising slogans, hundreds of girl students from school assembled in the premises of school early in the morning and boycott their classes and took out a protest rally and blocked Bhaderwah Doda road near the school for four hours . Not only girls, but some teachers also participated in the rally to express their solidarity with girl students for raising voice against teasing.The students were demanding permanent solution to the eve-teasing incidents, which are taking place day-to-day outside their educational institution . “Police should intensify patrolling outside our institution and tuition centres, so that eve-teasing incidents will come to end”, the protestors demanded.Apart from this the students were also demanding arrest of the accused who yesterday hit a girl of the school with his bike and injured her seriously and she is admitted in Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah where her condition is critical . Girls alleged that Police is shielding the culprit and demanded registration of FIR as soon as possible . However SSP Doda Mohd Shabir Khatana , Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah Imam Din , SDPO Birjesh Sharma , Tehsildar Masood Ahmed and SHO Jatinder Sambyal reached the venue of the protest and assured strict action against the accused who injured a girl student with his bike and also assured to intensified patrolling around the school . “We withdrew our protest after SSP Doda and ADC Bhaderwah assured us of taking steps to nab the culprits soon,” said students and added that the administration has also promised to introduce a 24×7 helpline number for girls so that they can call the police immediately in the event of any crisis. It is worthwhile to mention here that the number of accidents due to rash driving in the Bhaderwah has nearly doubled and young riders with high-speed motorbikes are among the major offenders in these cases.
