PATTAN: Scores of residents of Hanjiwera Payeen village of Pattan town including women today blocked Srinagar Muzafarabad national highway to protest the scarcity of water.
Protesters raised slogans against the PHE Department for not providing drinking water in the area. The protesters halts traffic on the highway which was resumed only after police swung to action to disperse protesting residents.
Police fired tear gas shelling and resort to cane charge in which a protesting woman received minor injury.
