Expresses grief and sorrow over the sad demise of veteran JKLF leader Sardar Aftab advocate

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has been arrested by police today. Large contingent of police this morning cordoned the residence of liberation front chairman and arrested him immediately. Prior to his arrest, while talking to media, JKLF chairman said that to stop united resistance leadership meeting and press conference, police from yesterday evening started an oppressive campaign against leadership. He said that these arrests, house arrests and other oppressive measures are a glaring example of Jammu Kashmir being run according to military marshal law. It is worth to mention that to stop resistance leadership meeting and press conference, police from last evening had laid a siege around the residence of veteran leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani who is under house arrest from a long time, Placed Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq under house arrest and today morning arrested JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik from his residence and unleashed a reign of terror to foil a simple meeting and press conference. While condemning the spree of arrests and house arrests and banning a simple meeting and pres meet, JKLF chairman said that it has become a custom of so-called rulers to suppress every voice before it is raised and this suppression cannot be termed but as naked fascism and state sponsored terrorism. While paying rich tributes to the deceased JKLF leader in Azad Kashmir Sardar Aftab advocate who expired yesterday after a brief illness in Rawalpindi, JKLF chairman said that late advocate Sardar Aftab was a true son of soil who remained steadfast till his last breath, endeavored many hardships but never compromised on his ideology and principles. A condolence meeting was held at JKLF headquarters in Srinagar in which JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, secretary general Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi, neither zonal president nor Muhammad Kalwal, Zonal general secretary sheikh Abdul Rashid and other participated. Leaders while paying rich tributes to the deceased, prayed for his heavenly abode. Leaders also expressed solidarity with his bereaved family.
