Urs of famous Sufi Saint celebrated in Wangat Kangan

Ganderbal: Thousands of devotees thronged Baba Nagri in Kangan area of Ganderbal district to attend the 125th Urs of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi (RA) the famous Sufi saint. The two-day Urs, celebrated with great enthusiasm, gaiety and religious fervor concluded with special congregational prayers at Baba Nagri in Wangat.
MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed was Thursday nominated by his father and renowned religious leader Mian Bashir Ahmad as the Sajjada-Nasheen Zayaarat Baba Jee Sahib Laarvi Wangath.The dastar bandi of Altaf Ahmad was carried out in presence of clerics and thousands of devotees who attended the urs here.
The Urs is observed on the June every year with thousands of devotees from within and outside the state, including those from Pakistan, thronging the two-day urs.
According to the management of Baba Jee Sahib Trust Wanghat , the two-day Urs will commence on Wednesday with Seerat Conference and night-long prayers will be held and on the concluding day on June 8, the special prayers was offered followed by Duaiya Majlis .They said that Sajadah Nisheen Dargah Aaliya , Mian Bashir Ahmad alias Baba Jee , who is father of senior National Conference leader and MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmad and various renowned Islamic scholars and religious personalities will throw light on the life and teachings of Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyani (RA) alias Baba-Jee Sahib (RA).
Hundreds of buses before a day of its commencing carrying Baba-Jee Sahibs followers from within and outside state were seen making their destination towards Baba Nagri.
“We have been coming to Baba Nagri since my childhood. I get a lot of spiritual satisfaction after visiting the shrine, as our family have faith in this shrine,” Gulzar Khan of Kashtwar said”.
Meanwhile Mian Altaf Ahmad was personally supervising the lodging, boarding and other facilities put in place for the devotees during Urs days.The devotees who had come from different areas of state particularly Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda, Rajouri, Islamabad Shopian and others as well visit the shrine every year.
