In a statement issued to press, Shah said Mahajir-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulana Yousuf Shah dedicated his life for the freedom of his nation and remained steadfast on his mission till his last breath.

“The contribution of Mirwaiz Yousuf Sahab (RA) towards creating religious and political awareness and his social and religious reform initiatives are hidden from none. He was a multi-dimensional personality who raised his voice against the autocratic rule,” Shah said.

Shah said the late Mirwaiz in order to spread education far and wide set up numerous educational institutions and madrassas across the valley and gave us the precious gift in the form of Tafseer-e-Qur’an.

Shah also paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Tufail Mattoo on his 7th martyrdom anniversary saying the killers of this innocent teenager continue to roam free. He said authorities instead of bringing the culprits to justice are shielding them.

“Those at helm always shed crocodile tears whenever innocent killings take place and in order to pacify the public anger order inquiries. Then they cover up the cases ultimately and protect the killers,” he said and expressed solidarity with the family of Shaheed Tufail Mattoo.

Meanwhile, on Shah’s directions, Freedom Party’s district president Islamabad, Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar and Er Farooq Ahmad visited the residence of late Abdul Majeed and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family.

Shah while paying tributes to the deceased said late Abdul Majeed and his family have contributed a lot towards the freedom movement.

Commenting on two martyred sons of the deceased Shaheed Manzoor ul Islam and Shaheed Sajad Ahmad, Shah said the martyrdom of two brothers indicates a lot about their upbringing. Shah paid tributes to all these martyrs and said they will always be remembered.
