Take govt policies, programme amongst people: Puneet Singh Jamwal

JAMMU: PDP Zone President Jammu West, Puneet Singh Jamwal today asked party workers to strengthen party at all levels and apprise people of coalition government’s programmes and policies which he added are aimed at empowering them and giving equal opportunities to subjects of all three regions of the state. He was addressing a meeting of representatives of different wards of Jammu West Zone here today. The meeting while deliberating on social and political issues also paid tributes to PDP leaders S Rangil Singh and Shanti Devi who left for their heavenly abode recently.

Speaking in the meeting Puneet Singh Jamwal said the coalition government formulated several programmes and policies especially for women and youth and the same must reach actual beneficiaries. He asked his party colleagues and those present in the meeting to take these programmes amongst youth and ask them to avail benefits of these schemes so that they could live an honourable life.

Referring to free education for girl students up to class twelfth, setting up of women police stations besides starting special buses for women and then handing over two-wheelers to college girls, the woman Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti he added had fulfilled coalition government’s promises to give priorities to women. He emphasised that it was because of these schemes that women folk today are today living an honourable life. The respect and dignity of women besides empowerment of girl children in our state is an example for others to follow, he said.

Remembering Rangil Singh and Shanti Devi as leaders of stature, the meeting observed two minutes silence and paid tributes to departed souls. The members also prayed for peace to the departed souls and described their death as a great loss to the party. The speakers present in the meeting including Zone Vice President Rajat Gupta, Secretary Sachin Bhagat, Organising Secretary Sumit Chadha, Ward President Rasal Singh and Shishu Gandotra besides Sohan Lal, Vijay Anand Shamsher Singh, Vijay Anand, Sachin Bhagat, Sohan Lal, Rasal Singh, Shamsher Singh, Sumit Chadha and Manik Abrol resolved to strengthen Ward Number 8 comprising of Old Rehari, Dogra Hall and Ward Number 27 of Rehari.
