SOPORE: Two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit were killed in a gun battle with security forces in Pazalpora area of Sopore in Baramulla district.
Reports said that the militants killed were identified as Gulzar Ahmad of Brath Kalan Sopore and Basit Ahmad from Andergam Pattan adding that the encounter took place at Pazalpora area of Sopore where the two militants were holed up inside a house.
Following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants, a joint team of the army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation on Tuesday night. The search operation was halted for the night and resumed in the morning when the gunfight started. Two weapons were also recovered from the slain militants after the encounter
