BARAMULLA: In view of forthcoming occasion of Eid, District Administration Baramulla under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today conducted the marketing checking in Baramulla town during which, SSP, ADC, Tehsildar, Baramulla, AD Food, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Executive Officer Municipal Council and field machinery of concerned departments accompanied the DC.
It was also mentioned that a special mobile testing laboratory van was used to check the standard of various food grains on spot. The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders.
During the inspection 25000 was recovered as fine from violated traders, 50 kg of polythene seized by the checking team, besides 55 Kg rotten vegetable and 11 Kg contaminated spices were also destroyed on the spot. During the checking all the traders are asked to hang rate lists at their shops.
On the occasion the DC said that several committees have already been constituted at Tehsil Levels so that such drives can also be launched at lower levels. He stressed upon intensifying the drive and impressed upon the officers for ensuring uninterrupted water and power supply during these holy days.
Meanwhile the DC impressed upon authorities to ensure hassle free movement of commuters by acting against street encroachers. Moreover the DC urged upon the people to avoid the use of polythene so that the pollution can be minimized.
