JAMMU: India’s largest telecommunication Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will provide SIM cards having a week-long validity to Shri Amarnath pilgrims at registration counters established here.
‘’BSNL has made special arrangement for Yatri SIM sale @ Rs 199 with 7 days validity,’’ an official here today said.
He said that the SIMs will be sold at J&K-Punjab border at Lakhanpur in Kathua district, Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp Jammu and sales outlets at Baltal, Chandanwari (Nunwan Camp) in Srinagar.
The official further said that special communication arrangements have also been made en-route both Northern and Southern routes of Shri Amanath Yatra for providing mobile services to the Yatris.
‘’Mobile services were first introduced in 2010 for Yatris, security agencies as well as for facilitating the coordination among various agencies involved in the provision of infrastructure and other facilities to Yatris,’’ he added. (UNI)
