India’s GSAT-17 Communication Satellite Launched Successful

Bengaluru: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) today augmented its transponder capacity with the successful launch of, GSAT-17 through an Ariane 5 launcher of Arianespace from Kourou in French Guiana in the early hours of today.
GSAT 17was the India’s third communication satellite to successfully reach orbit in the past two months.
The 3477 kg GSAT-17 carries communication payloads in C-band, Extended C-band and S-band for providing various services to the country.
it also carried equipment for meteorological data relay and satellite based search and rescue services.
This was the third mission for ISRO during June and fifth during the current year. (UNI)
